Phil Godfrey was planning to walk from the Scillies Isles right on to Shetland. This was in memory of his wife Christine who was diagnosed with APS in 2005 and who passed away in January 2015.
Walk Resumed
After being looked after by a physio and a personal trainer, l am now ready to take on this challenge again.
Travelled down yesterday Thursday, train was early into Penzance, and then stayed with a lovely couple near the Airport. Got there this morning to find FOG, but it cleared quite quickly and I was on the first flight out to St Mary’s, then on to the ferry for St Agnes, where I was met by my host. B&B very nice.
Weather is gorgeous with blue seas and skies and long views to the other islands. Walked down to Horse Point ( my official start ). Distance 4 miles.
I understand that today is National Fish & Chips day, so I lunched accordingly at the Turks Head, where I will return to tonight for the Gig racing.
Overall a lovely welcome to the Scillies
