Planes, Trains and Automobiles:- and so much more
The Orcades Model Club has this year produced an incredible show which took place over the weekend at the Kirkwall Grammar School. The displays were so numerous it filled the main hall and beyond. Whatever your interest there was something in the exhibits on show to catch your eye. Everything from cars, ships, planes, militaria, Warhammer, Gundam, farms, houses, dolls, train sets (working), Lego, shop bought and home crafted.

James Falconer bought his first car when he was 15 years old and since then has amassed an amazing collection. All of his models work and some use strimmer engines in them.

Pearl Wishart was given a doll by her grandaughter over 25 years ago. That got her started on her collection. She has over 100 now so only brought a small selection to exhibit.
The members also contribute an item to the raffle. This year Peedie Models donated a trophy for the best display. This will become an award for each Orcades Model Show.

Thomas Foreman winner of the trophy for Best Display 2017
This year the trophy was awarded to Thomas Foreman. His display was of historical and fantasy model figures. The judges considered that his work would be an inspiration to other young model makers.
The proceeds from the show will go to local charities.
