Phil Godfrey is planning to walk from the Scillies Isles right on to Shetland. This is in memory of his wife Christine who was diagnosed with APS in 2005 and who passed away in January 2015. Due to injuries sustained early on he is doing this in stages.
Had a good start from Banks, but soon found that the ground is extremely wet with standing water and therefore very muddy conditions.
As the route planned was across an area of marshland and riverside and I had sore knees and thighs, I decided to catch the bus to Preston.
After a circuitous walk through Preston, I found my B&B, not very sparkling, still only one night.
So weather was generally good, it was not one of my better days.
Distance actually walked 5.5 miles
Preston
Found my hotel with difficulty, but it was truly awful.
During yesterday afternoon, my right knee started to be extremely painful so after a sleepless ñight I have decided to return home to try and get the knee right.
So now on train back to Solihull
