Orkney Core Paths Revised Proposals

walkingOrkney Islands Council has produced a revised plan of the core paths in Orkney enjoyed by so many walkers. Your views are being sought on what you think of the revised path network. In response to the comments made by the public and with a limited budget the new plans can be viewed here:

Consultation Period

This consultative draft document has been published for a period of formal public consultation from Thursday 15 March 2018 to 7 June 2018.

Core Paths Plan and Maps

Stuart West, on behalf of OIC  said:

“We’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to the review of core paths in Orkney over the latter part of last year. Based on that feedback, we’ve revised the plan to include more circular walking routes, and rationalising the network’s lower quality paths so that finite resources can be focussed to provide most benefit.”
