Supporting Young Enterprising Scots

The Princes Trust is to receive £400,000 from the Scottish Government to develop their Enterprise Programme.

The Princes Trust supports 11 – 30 year olds . The Enterprise Programme helps with training, funding, advice and support for any young person who has a business idea.

A further £250,000 is to go to Scotland’s Enterprising Schools which is part of the Curriculum for Excellence.

Jamie Hepburn,  Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills in the Scottish Government said:

“We want Scotland to be a country that invents, designs and manufactures the technologies and products of the future, a world-leading entrepreneurial and innovative nation.

“Investing in entrepreneurial education will mean that Scotland will be fostering the next generations of Scottish entrepreneurs.”

Orkney’s schools have always performed incredibly well in Enterprise projects. This year Kirkwall Grammar School students took first place in Young Enterprise Scotland’s Festival of Youth Enterprise Orkney’s Estrela is Company of the Year. and also came top in a UK wide competition with their company Estrela. Award Winning KGS Students- Estrela
