Poetry Corner: Teeter Totter

By Richard Wallace

Teeter Totter

I love my teeter totter

and I can tell you why.

When I teeter totter up

I’m way up in the sky.

When I teeter totter up

I can see above the trees.

When I teeter totter down

I have to bend my knees.

I teeter totter with my cat.

I hold her in my arm.

She likes to teeter totter

and there’s never any harm.

I teeter totter with my puppy

but he doesn’t like to play.

When I teeter totter down

he jumps and runs away.

I teeter totter in the rain,

I teeter totter in the wind,

but really best of all

I teeter totter with a friend.
