Local MSP Maree Todd SNP has urged people to make sure that they are registered to vote in the EU elections to be held on the 23rd of May.

You have to be registered by the end of day, 7th of May.

Research published today revealed that 600,000 Scots who are eligible to vote in this month’s elections have not registered yet. Unlike the Brexit referendum, EU citizens living in the UK can vote in European parliamentary elections.

Maree Todd said:

“People in Highlands and Islands and across Scotland voted to remain in the European Union – but even many of those who voted to leave have real concerns about the extreme Brexit now being pursued.

“We know that Brexit will harm our economy, cost jobs and stifle growth.

“It’s really concerning that loss of inward migration will hit our Scottish rural economy and communities hard.

“It’s vital therefore that voters get registered as soon as possible.”

Maree Todd added:

“A vote for the SNP is a vote to make clear that Scotland says no to Brexit.

“Whatever your choice- take part in this important election and register by 7 May!”

Have you thought that maybe apathy may well have set in after all , remember we voted remain and the SNP spouted ” if we are forced to come out of the EU” , ” there would be a clear mandate to call a referendum “. Time the mandate is used and clarity to the voters is another . personally I will not be voting as it has been proven the snp are powerless in Europe. Especially in respect of medicines and the party you represent have done nothing along with the green party copy and paste from the same establishment wastemonster crib sheet . and the latest nothing short of a treachery , wishart – voted by the people of Perth to represent them in westmonster is turning his back on them and the people of Scotland is putting himself up for position of speaker of the house ludcrous to say the least. So yup perhaps in closing if you want people to make any effort your party have to put the work in get out of the dictotoriat ethos get out and campaign .its too late for your party to persuade me to vote snp ive seen the lack of power snp have both in Europe and disgracefully here in firstly in Scotland and Westmonster.
