The Orkney News has featured many of the installations we have in the islands from World War 2.
Volunteers in Wick have also been incredibly busy restoring a defence structure from World War 2.
The lookout on the north head at Wick was restored by the local branch of the Royal British Legion – at one time, it was feared Hitler might invade Britain via the North of Scotland.
The open day arranged had to be postponed due to the wet weather but Noel Donaldson has taken these super images of the structure.
It is hoped that this will be popular with visitors with guided tours available.
