The Young Carers Grant will open on Monday 21st of October for applications from people in Scotland aged 16, 17 and 18.
If you spend 16 hours caring for someone who receives a disability benefit you will be eligible to apply.
It is estimated it will support 2,000 young carers in Scotland.

Social Security Secretary in the Scottish Government, Shirley-Anne Somerville said:
“I am delighted that we are using our new social security powers to recognise the extraordinary contribution these dedicated young people make to the lives of those they care for. This is the first time young carers anywhere in the UK will receive a cash benefit.”
