On 10th of November 1871 American journalist Henry Morton Stanley met the Scottish explorer, missionary and campaigner against slavery  Dr David Livingstone at Ujiji, near Lake Tanganyika in Central Africa, with the immortal words ‘Dr Livingstone, I presume?’
