Dear Orkney News,

My dad, born in Orkney, often used Orcadian terms.

Here in Canada, when putting a container of milk behind the wood stove to warm before making butter, he referred to as the “louty keg”…I think.

Can anyone tell me if that is the word and the correct spelling ?
