Published today, 22nd of January, are the latest figures for positive tests recorded and unfortunately cases continue to rise in Orkney. The total now recorded in Orkney is 56.

For Scotland the stats are as follows for 22nd of January 2021
1,480 new cases of COVID-19 reported
26,054 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results – 6.9% of these were positive
71 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
161 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed COVID-19
2,053 people are in hospital with recently confirmed COVID-19
358,454 people have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination and 4,689 have received their second dose
To stop the spread of Covid this is what we can do
- wear a face covering
- avoid crowded places
- clean hands and surfaces regularly
- stay 2m away from other people
- self-isolate and book a test if you have COVID-19 symptoms (new continuous cough, fever or loss of, or change in, sense of smell or taste)
