Cloudy start with rain, but soon becoming mainly dry and bright with just a scattering of showers. The showers will turn more wintry later, with some heavier showers over Shetland towards evening and northwest winds will become strong in afternoon. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Clear spells and a few showers over Orkney and winds will ease later. Cloudier over Shetland with some heavy, sometimes wintry showers and northwest winds may reach gale force. Minimum temperature 2 °C.
Wednesday 21st April:
Windy with heavy showers over Shetland at first, otherwise mainly dry and bright with sunny spells and the odd light shower. Northwest winds steadily easing, falling light over Orkney later Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Generally dry and bright but rather cold and cloudy at times with a few light showers, though Shetland could see some heavier showers, especially on Thursday,
