A fine start across Shetland with sunny spells. However, cloud and outbreaks of rain across Orkney spread north reaching Shetland towards midday, the rain heavy and persistent at times. Orkney may become drier and brighter later. Occasionally strong northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Tonight:
Still some occasionally heavy rain across Shetland but soon clearing with some late bright spells developing. Cloud and further outbreaks of rain affect Orkney overnight but Shetland should remain dry. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Tuesday 25th May:
A largely dry and bright day with sunny spells across the Northern Isles, although one or two light showers can’t be ruled out. Light northerly winds freshening later. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
A few light showers but bright Wednesday with occasionally strong northerly winds. Generally dry Thursday with sunny spells and light winds. Bright start Friday but cloudier with patchy rain later.
