Week Twenty-two – One Day At A Time

By Bernie Bell

Pics by McB

May the Twenty-eighth……………Art works….or Otter snacks?  Could be a matter of scale.

Another thing which lifted the day – just before we went to bed I looked out the window to see Mr. Harrier, swooping low over our garden.  He hovered  over the ‘Jungle’, then swooped back over our garden, next door’s garden, and away over the fields.

We don’t see the Harriers or Wol so much now, since the voles disappeared.  It was very good to see him again, and I hope he had Good Hunting.

May the Twenty-ninth………………It’s the time of year to play…….Spot The Orchid!…..Geddit?

May the Thirtieth…………..Oystercatchers at the Oyce……of Quindry……

May the Thirty-first…….Mike went for his second Covid jab……..nicely timed before the influx of visitors….you don’t know where they’ve beeeeeen…..

He’ll still be wearing a mask though, when applicable….whether groovy….or not so groovy…..

June the First…………The first Bogbean flowering in the pond……As we approach the pond we hear plop, plop, plop…..Frogs sunning themselves on the sides – jumping in.  Summer!

June the Second………Salad leaf seedlings appearing…..Not quite Salad days…..yet…..

June the Third……………..Mike’s idea was….to take a pic a day of something in each day which could be admired, enjoyed  or appreciated. I then add the words. I must admit, he’s got me stumped with this one!

They are bits & pieces, picked up here and there along the way, which we then placed around a Phormium in a big plant pot.  I think they look OK……but they don’t make my heart sing!

Each to their own.

  1. First Bogbean flower – exquisite furry flowers! I must go down by Loch Leven at Findatie where there’s a marshy mass of Bogbeans.
