Weather Forecast: Cloudy, showery start to Saturday. Becoming drier, a little brighter.

Today 7th August:

Cloudy start with scattered showers, mostly dying out around early afternoon. Then mainly dry with chance of some sunshine, especially across Orkney. Fresh easterly winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.


Some late sunshine then clear spells to start the night across Orkney, otherwise a rather cloudy evening and night. Showers later in the night for Shetland, dry for Orkney. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Sunday 8th August:

Largely dry and bright with some sunny spells and just the outside chance of a passing showers. Light east becoming northeast winds. Perhaps heavy rain later in the evening. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Light winds on Monday and Tuesday. Low cloud later on Monday, lifting on Tuesday. Some patchy light rain but largely dry. A band of heavier rain sweeps east on Wednesday. Information from The Met Office
