Weather Forecast: Mainly dry with some sunshine, showers later.

Today 12th August:

Any mist and drizzle soon clearing Shetland to leave a mainly dry and bright day with sunny spells. However, becoming windy with a few showers in the evening, mainly for Orkney. Maximum temperature 18 °C.


A few evening showers but these will die out later and there will be some clear spells. More scattered showers for Orkney by dawn and brisk southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Friday 13th August:

Bright and breezy with a scattering of showers, more so for Orkney, with Shetland seeing some long sunny spells. Showers becoming heavy at times later. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Showery at first on Saturday, becoming drier later. The winds turning northerly on Saturday so feeling cooler. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain on Sunday but drier again by Monday. Information from The Met Office
