This started a dance craze that even at 21stC weddings, older people can still get it together and twist away.

In 1988 a version by The Fat Boys and featuring Chubby Checker reached no. 2 in the UK Charts.

The song goes back to 1958 by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters as a B-side to “Teardrops on Your Letter” (Wikipedia)
