Dry, bright this morning with sunny spells. Cloudy afternoon with a little rain crossing Orkney, extending to Shetland and becoming more persistent for a time. Dry, clearer weather following later. Fresh southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Tonight:
Any rain over Shetland at first, soon dying out, then dry with clear periods overnight. Winds becoming lighter for a time then southwest winds freshening by morning. Minimum temperature 10 °C.
Tuesday 21st September:
Mostly dry with sunny spells in the morning then cloudy in afternoon. There may be a few light showers during evening. Southwest winds becoming strong with gales over Shetland later. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
More typical autumnal weather during the second half of the week. Blustery showers, some heavy with even some longer spells of rain. Windy with gales, possibly severe at times.
