There are unconfirmed reports that there were people on board the Mariella 2 Explorer liner which visited Orkney yesterday who had been in Covid isolation since Saturday.
We are attempting to establish the veracity of this and if so what mitigation procedures were put in place to ensure the safety of islanders from the onward transmission of this highly infectious and life changing potentially deadly virus.

Fiona, here we go again, I remember as do all of us the large number of cruise ship passengers who were stranded in ports all over the world in the first outbreak. We don’t want a repeat performance amongst the Scottish Islands, west and north.
