Today 23rd September:

A few early showers otherwise mainly dry with some sunshine although feeling quite fresh. Rain spreading from the west in the evening. Northwesterly gales easing through the morning, winds becoming moderate westerly by afternoon. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Strengthening westerly winds but not as strong as recent nights. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain overnight but some drier spells for Orkney. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Friday 24th September:

A wet start but soon brightening up for all with just a few showers. Winds staying quite blustery until later in the day. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mainly dry over the weekend, a little rain likely on Saturday. Freshening southeasterly winds on Sunday, further gales likely for Monday and some wet weather to start the new week.
