Today 28th September:
A mainly dry day with some good spells of sunshine although always the risk of the odd passing shower especially for Shetland. Feeling quite chilly in the brisk south to southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Dry start to the evening but becoming cloudier with some rain later, rain probably not affecting Orkney for long but it could be a wet and night for Shetland. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Chance of some heavy rain over Shetland to start the day, but drier in Orkney and becoming dry and bright with light winds for all. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
An unsettled end to the week becoming windy on Thursday with periods of rain. Some early rain Friday but then drier with some brightness at times, strong winds likely.
