Some bright spells around but generally a rather cloudy day with showers or longer spells of rain, the rain heavy at times. Fresh southeasterly then occasionally strong southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Tonight:
Rather cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain but clearer conditions with fewer showers soon reaching Orkney and then Shetland towards midnight. Strengthening southerly winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.
Saturday 2nd October:
Bright, breezy morning with sunny spells and a few showers but becoming cloudier from the south in the afternoon with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain. Strong southerly then southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Potentially a wet and very windy start on Sunday then sunny or clear spells with heavy blustery showers through the rest of Sunday and Monday. Lighter winds, fewer showers Tuesday.
