Some bright or sunny spells and the odd shower, these mainly across Fair Isle and Shetland. Chance of some persistent rain reaching Orkney late afternoon. Strong southerly winds backing southeasterly. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Windy with rain, heavy at times, spreading northwestwards across all areas overnight. Strong to gale east or southeasterly winds, easing by the end of the night. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Sunday 3rd October:

Mostly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain. Windy with strong to gale southerly winds, veering northwesterly later. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Bright with a few showers on Monday, winds easing down. Mainly dry on Tuesday and Wednesday.
