Today 9th October:

Generally a dull and misty day with occasional rain, this heavier at times during the morning. Dry and bright conditions eventually feeding across Orkney late afternoon. Southwest breezes occasionally freshening. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud and patchy rain across Shetland early evening, clearing into North Sea by late evening. Otherwise only a few well scattered, light showers mixed with clear spells. Westerly winds strengthening. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Sunday 10th October:

Showery day with some outbreaks turning heavy, bringing a risk of hail and thunder. Occasional brighter spells, but not feeling mild in strong to near gale west to southwest winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Sunshine and showers with outbreaks most frequent and heavier Monday, while bright and sunny spells appear more readily on Tuesday. Northwest winds veering southwest Wednesday.
