Baby Loss #WaveOfLight

Taking place 9 – 15 October every year, Baby Loss Awareness Week raises awareness of pregnancy and baby loss in the UK.

Throughout the week, bereaved parents, and their families and friends, unite with others across the world to commemorate the lives of babies who died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth, and in infancy.

Led by Sands, the Baby Loss Awareness Alliance is a collaboration of more than 100 charities working together to break the taboo and drive improvements in policy, bereavement care and support for anyone affected by the death of a baby.

“The Balfour maternity unit staff, Orkney, would like to invite all those affected by the loss of a baby, at any stage in pregnancy, to join them for a small service at the St Magnus Centre on Friday 15th October from 6.30pm. “

“We will remember all those babies who have gone too soon and take part in the international Wave of Light by lighting a candle at 7pm. We would encourage you to take along your partner, family and friends to the service. This event will conclude Baby Loss Awareness Week which runs from Saturday 9th to Friday 15th October. “
