Though at the time, we didn’t know that it was.

Woodwick is now for sale – in fact is ‘Under Offer’. This brought back many good memories of the place – seeing ‘The Chair’ in a big tent there, seeing the !Gubi family in the same big tent there. Many indoor music evenings with The Song Shop Choir, Jo Philby Band, Hank Wangford – yes – Hank Wangford – that’s a good few years ago!
Delicious evening meals there, cooked by James, who would make me a veggie meal if there wasn’t one on the menu.
Spring and summer afternoon teas in the conservatory – if we were lucky enough to book in time!

And walks – walks in the grounds in all times of year….spring bluebells….

…………….autumn leaves, winter ice, enjoying the cool of the river and the shade of the trees – a rare pleasure in Orkney.

And walking the wee labyrinth by the Bay…..

The Rookery………

The Doocot…..

And a few examples of Nature’s Art, at Woodwick…..

I hope it becomes an hotel again, with evening meals, then we’ll still be able to visit – if the new owners have the welcoming approach that the present owners have.
