Mainly dry this morning with the best of the brightness across Shetland. Thickening cloud will bring outbreaks of rain to Orkney around midday, reaching Shetland by evening. Southerly winds becoming strong. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Clearer conditions with a scattering of showers soon moving into Orkney, then Shetland later this evening. Winds turning into the southwest and easing. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday 12th December:

A bright day with some weak winter sunshine and a scattering of showers. Outbreaks of rain and strengthening winds in the evening, becoming stormy overnight. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Stormy winds soon easing on Monday, then bright with blustery showers. Turning wet and windy on Tuesday, then bright with blustery showers again on Wednesday.
