Cloudy with patchy light rain and strong southeast winds this morning. The rain becoming confined to Shetland this afternoon. Orkney will become dry and a little brighter with lighter winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Rain over Shetland soon dying out. Then a mostly dry night over the Isles with clear periods and a few light showers. Light winds. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Tuesday 28th December:

Mainly dry, bright day with some sunshine. There will still be a few light showers. Light winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Mainly dry, bright on Wednesday then some wet, windy weather on Wednesday night. Drier weather returning on Thursday, then further wet and windy weather is expected on Friday.
