This is it folks – the last week in our ‘One Day At A Time‘ series – we’ll keep on looking for the positives!

December the Twenty-fourth…………………Strimming the grass round the wee trees…….It’s been too wet for the last couple of months……Pleased to see the daffs aren’t coming through yet, or they might have got their shoots chopped off!

December the Twenty-fifth…………Christmas Day…………..Presents from a thoughtful person……An ‘Orkney News’ beany hat to keep Mike’s baldy head warm……A shoulder shawl for me – as I am a little old lady!…..

If anyone is wondering what happened to my hair – I got fed up with it and chopped it off!!!  One day I’ll get to the hairdressers again, and Sandra will give me a hard look and say…”Well…………….”

December the Twenty-sixth……… Boxing Day = birdy day!………..First of all, Kraak the Heron was standing in the meadow but, ironically, he took off when Mike went out to feed the birds…………Then we saw Aubers the Aristocratic Pheasant scooting across the bottom of the garden, having helped himself to the grain Mike had put out…………..Then Mr Harrier ‘quartering’ the fields, being harassed by a Hoodie (Crow that is!), and swooping across our garden and round the corner of our house to get away from it……They were too fast for a photo….So Mike did a painting instead…………

December the Twenty-seventh………….Kraak the Heron at the pond……Standing, waiting……Got a big frog, washed it repeatedly……..Ate it, had a drink……….Then stood, digesting……..Caught another one and repeated the washing ritual………Maybe he doesn’t like duck weed?

December the Twenty-eighth………Scapa Beach…..Sunset…..Birds….

December the Twenty-ninth………………A day to stay in and have a nice cup of tea………..

December the Thirtieth……………..There are still some bright spots of colour in the garden……..Hebe…..Glowing…….

December the Thirty-first……………..Slàinte……Here’s hoping, for 2022……

So….That’s it……A year of finding something good in each day.

And what will this year bring?…
