A bright day with sunny intervals and a few brief showers, these mostly across Shetland with Orkney seeing some shelter. Showers mainly dying out by early evening. Fresh southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry during the evening but increasing cloud and some light rain by midnight, strong southwesterly winds throughout the night. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Wednesday 12th January:

Southwesterly gales at times and periods of light and patchy rain during the day, perhaps a few brighter spells appearing in the east. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Mostly cloudy with some occasional light rain or drizzle, westerly gales on Thursday, brighter with lighter winds Friday and Saturday, still a few showers.
