Some bright intervals and scattered showers through the day, turning wintry in the afternoon. Feeling cold in the strong northwesterly wind. Gales at times, especially through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Tonight:
Cold with wintry showers, easing tonight with just a few light flurries by morning. Strong northwest winds, gales at first for Shetland, easing through the early hours. Icy stretches developing. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Thursday 20th January:
Mainly dry and rather cloudy, with a few bright spells possible. Fresh northwest winds, occasionally strong in exposed areas. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
A rather cloudy few days with a little light rain at times, turning persistent for Shetland on Sunday. Milder again towards the weekend and breezy, with southwesterly gales at times.
