Mainly dry this morning, a little brightness. Wet and windy weather will spread from the west this afternoon, although rain easing towards evening. Strong to gale westerly winds becoming southwesterly this afternoon. Maximum temperature 10 °C.
Rain clearing away this evening. Then the rest of the night will be generally cloudy with showers. Strong to gale southwesterly winds veering northwesterly, severe gale across Orkney around midnight. Minimum temperature 4 °C.
Thursday 27th January:
Cold and windy with frequent blustery showers, occasionally wintry. Becoming drier by evening. Strong to gale northwesterly winds, easing through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Rain at times on Friday, somewhat brighter with showers on Saturday. Windy with west to northwesterly gales. Chance of some further rain later on Sunday.
