The cumulative total of Covid cases in Orkney is now at 1,888 as 19 new PCR tests were recorded in the Health Board area.
In the combined stats posted on the PHS website the stats are as follows:
- PCR only: 11
- LFD and positive PCR: 3
- LFD only: 18
- Total: 32

From 26th January to 1st February 2022 there were 77 positive cases in Orkney. The positivity rate was 15.7%
Across the islands the cases recorded for this period were as follows:
- West Mainland: 24
- Stromness, Sandwick, Stenness: 16
- East Mainland: 19
- Isles: 3
RNA Monitoring of waste water in Kirkwall continues to show a positive result. Testing is conducted on incoming waste water samples collected by Scottish Water to pinpoint fragments of coronavirus’ ribonucleic acid (RNA) in local waste water samples.

The stats for Scotland published on 4th February 2022 are as follows:
- 7,676 new cases of COVID-19 reported.
- 17 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive
- 27 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 1,042 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
- 4,418,804 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,132,928 have received their second dose, and 3,310,626 have received a third dose or booster

- get the vaccine or the vaccine booster
- take regular lateral flow tests – especially before mixing with other people or visiting a hospital or care home – get lateral flow tests
- follow the guidance on self-isolating and booking a test
- wear a face covering where required
- if mixing with others, try to gather in small groups only
- wash your hands regularly and cover your nose and mouth if coughing or sneezing
- open windows when meeting indoors
- a mixture of home and office working is allowed
- use the apps: COVID status, Protect Scotland and Check-in Scotland
