Another cold, windy, showery day. The showers will be heavy at times with hail and sleet mixed in, even some wet snow in the heaviest showers and on higher ground. Some drier, sunnier interludes too. Squally gale force southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

Clear intervals and further wintry showers, giving slight falls mainly over higher ground. Showers becoming isolated over Shetland later as winds veer northerly and ease. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Thursday 10th February:

A bright cold day with some sunny intervals along with a few light snow showers. Less windy. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Sunny intervals and a few showers on Friday, less cold, then some rain overnight. Bright and showery over the weekend and becoming somewhat milder.
