Some bright or sunny spells and the chance of a few showers, although more in the way of dry weather developing this afternoon especially for Orkney. Light winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry at first this evening. Freshening northeasterly winds will bring showers from the north during the early hours. Winds increasing strong to gale later in the night. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Monday 14th February:

Bright spells and showers, these occasionally wintry especially for Shetland. Strong to gale northerly winds easing later. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Orkney seeing rain on Tuesday. Shetland mainly dry. Rain for a time on Wednesday followed by showers, these continuing into Thursday. Becoming windy at times with gales or severe gales.
