Today 26th February:

A bright, largely dry day with sunny spells for both Orkney and Shetland, just a few spots of rain at times across Shetland. However it will be breezy with strong southerly winds, increasing to gale force at times across Shetland. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining mostly dry with clear spells through the evening and overnight. Cloud is expected to thicken towards the end of the night with some rain by dawn. Occasional southerly gales. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday 27th February:

A rather cloudy morning with outbreaks of mainly light rain. However it becomes brighter in the afternoon with some sunny spells developing. Occasional southerly gales turning more southwesterly and easing. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Early rain Monday then sunny spells and showers, perhaps wintry later. Further wintry showers Tuesday with strong westerly winds. A few showers Wednesday but most places dry with sunny spells.
