A largely dry and bright day across the Northern Isles with high cloud. A few showers are possible, mainly across eastern Shetland in the morning. Mainly light northerly winds. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Tonight:
A largely dry evening and night with some clear spells developing. Thicker cloud moving across Shetland by the end of the day, bringing a few showery outbreaks of rain. Minimum temperature -3 °C.
Saturday 2nd April:
Some sunny spells at first across Orkney, otherwise a cloudy day with a few showers. Light winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
An unsettled period with outbreaks of rain. Turning much milder than of late Sunday night, but then a return to unseasonably cold conditions with wintery showers late Monday or Tuesday.
