Tonight:

An area of rain, sleet and snow will extend north across Orkney. Shetland will see occasional snow showers, perhaps turning persistent later. Cold with easterly winds increasing strong to gale. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Wednesday 6th April:

A mix of rain, sleet and snow persisting across Orkney, and staying dull. A few brighter spells in Shetland with occasional sleet and snow showers. Strong to gale easterly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

A cold few days with bright spells and scattered wintry showers. Brisk northerly or northwesterly winds, with gales at times.
