Today 17th April:

A dry day and it will be rather cloudy at first. Some bright or sunny spells developing later this morning and into the afternoon, especially across Orkney. Patchy mist and low cloud lingering over parts of Shetland. Fresh southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.


Most places will stay dry with clear periods. It will become cloudy over Orkney later tonight with possibly a little rain by morning. Fresh southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Monday 18th April:

Cloudy with a little rain over Orkney extending to Shetland later in the morning. Dry, brighter weather following to Orkney in the afternoon. Southerly winds becoming light. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

High pressure extending from Scandinavia across the Isles keeping dry, settled weather for the rest of the week. Bright spells but also patches of mist and low cloud. Light winds.
