Home-Start Orkney makes life better for children in Orkney by helping their families give them the best possible start in life.
The organisation is currently expanding and wants to bring new skills and experiences to the board.

You might be a small business owner, a health visitor, a solicitor, or an education professional. Or you might be a jack of all trades who knows a bit about everything.
You might be a small business owner with a head for figures, an accountant, or a bookkeeper.
Home-Start Orkney is really keen that their board is as amazingly diverse as our island populations. There is space for everyone’s voice.
What would you take away from your time with Home-Start Orkney?
You will definitely get a great induction and the opportunity to learn from highly motivated, experienced Third Sector colleagues. You will also be part of a network of Home-Starts across the UK with access to a wealth of resources and support. And you might be surprised by how much you get from giving time.
You need to be able to commit to 6 or 7 remote meetings per year and, if possible, to be there in person once in a while. The role takes up about 2-4 hrs per month to attend meetings, scrutinise papers, take part in subcommittees and carry out specific responsibilities related to the role.
