Today 24th May:

Sunny spells and a few showers, the best of the sunshine across Orkney and western Shetland. A chance that eastern parts of Shetland will see a little more cloud with fresh north or northwest winds here. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry start with some evening brightness. Thickening cloud through the early hours will bring outbreaks of showery rain later in the night as well as a freshening southerly breeze. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday 25th May:

Morning cloud and rain turning to bright spells and scattered heavy showers for Orkney towards midday, but rain persisting into the afternoon for Shetland. Fresh southerly winds becoming strong westerlies. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Scattered heavy, blustery showers Thursday with strong westerly winds. Windy with showers at first on Friday but settling down into the weekend as things turn drier, brighter and less windy.
