Best of limited brighter spells across Orkney before mid-morning. Otherwise rather cloudy with showers, these generally quite light, but turning sharper across Shetland later in the day. North to northwest winds occasionally strong. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Fresh northerly winds will bring frequent showers and rather cloudy skies over the Northern Isles through the evening and night. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Monday 30th May:

Showers frequent and locally heavy at first, dwindling gradually through the day, with bright and sunny spells increasingly likely from mid-afternoon, particularly for Shetland. Winds light and variable. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Sunshine and scattered showers for Tuesday and Wednesday. Winds backing north to northwest for Thursday bringing cloudier skies, but staying largely dry.
