A rather cloudy day with some patchy mainly light rain around, although there will be some brighter spells at times. Risk of some heavier bursts of rain reaching Orkney around mid-afternoon and the Shetland towards evening. Moderate southwesterly breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Tonight:
Rain clearing for a time this evening with perhaps some late sunny spells. However further rain expected overnight, this heavy and persistent at times. Winds turning more southeasterly, freshening later. Minimum temperature 10 °C.
Friday 17th June:
Cloudy with further outbreaks of rain, these tending to become lighter and patchier through the morning. Becoming brighter from the west from mid-afternoon. Occasionally strong southerly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Rather cool and windy Saturday with showers or longer spells of rain Saturday. Brighter with a few showers Sunday as winds turn northerly and ease. Cloudy with occasional rain Monday.
