A cloudy day and although mainly dry in the morning, cloud lowering across Shetland in the afternoon with some patchy light rain or drizzle, and misty on high ground too. Some bright or sunny intervals over Orkney. Fresh southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.


Shetland staying mainly cloudy and misty, with drizzle, and some fog in the west, though Yell and Unst may clear. Orkney mainly dry and cloudy. Winds moderating. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Thursday 23rd June:

A damp misty morning for Shetland then becoming dry by afternoon with the sun breaking through later, Orkney dry with some bright or sunny intervals. Gentle southerly breeze. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A more changeable outlook, with the chance of soime heavy showers at times. Some brighter spells too, though the risk of some haar.
