Weather Forecast: Showers dwindling as brighter spells gradually increase.

Today 15th July:

Rather cloudy start with occasional showers, these sharp over Shetland. Gradually through the afternoon brighter spells will increase while the showers grow lighter and less frequent. West to northwest winds occasionally strong across Shetland. Maximum temperature 16 °C.


A few well scattered shower through much of the night with clear spells more widespread across Orkney. Cloud thickening from west towards dawn, bringing the risk of patchy rain. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Saturday 16th July:

A rather dull, overcast day with rain off and on, brought on the freshening southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday rather cloudy with some scattered showers. Dry with bright and sunny spells turning quite widespread Monday. Warm Tuesday with increasing risk of low cloud and fog.
