Today 29th July:
Early mist clearing from Orkney to leave warm sunny spells and perhaps the odd afternoon shower. Dry with bright spells over Shetland but some low cloud at times. Freshening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 20 °C.
A dry and bright evening but cloud thickening from the west. Outbreaks of rain will spread east across all parts after midnight. Strong southerly winds. Minimum temperature 12 °C.
Saturday 30th July:
Windy with outbreaks of rain in the morning. Drier conditions arriving in the afternoon with winds easing. Becoming brighter over Orkney but some low cloud and haar will affect Shetland. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Mainly dry with sunny spells and light winds on Sunday and Monday but a chance of a few showers. Outbreaks of rain arriving from the west on Tuesday.
