Today 5th August:

A bright morning with isolated showers. Becoming cloudier for a time in the afternoon with showers merging into longer spells of rain across Shetland and Fair Isle. Remaining quite bright across Orkney. A brisk westerly wind becoming established. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Rain clearing Shetland then mainly dry with some evening sunshine. Clear spells and a few well isolated showers for much of the night. A band of rain reaching Orkney later. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday 6th August:

An unsettled start to the weekend as a band of rain and drizzle slowly crossing the Isles. Becoming rather windy with a fresh or strong southwesterly wind later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rather wet and windy on Sunday and Monday with outbreaks of rain and drizzle and an occasionally strong westerly or southwesterly wind. Perhaps brighter on Tuesday but remaining breezy.
