A few early showers across Shetland but generally a dry here with some sunny spells and light winds. Orkney looks rather cloudier with the odd spot of rain possible and more of an easterly breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Continuing rather cloudy across Orkney with a few spots of rain possible. Shetland dry with clear spells and, with light winds, feeling a bit chilly. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Monday 29th August:

A cloudy start across Orkney, otherwise a bright and dry day across the Northern Isles with some sunny spells. Light winds for Shetland with the easterly breeze continuing across Orkney. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Settled and largely dry through the middle of the week, Tuesday looks rather cloudy but Wednesday and Thursday low bright with sunny spells. Freshening southerly winds on Thursday.
