Mostly cloudy with further outbreaks of rain and fresh to strong easterly winds. However, some drier and brighter weather is likely to develop across Shetland through the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with clear spells over Shetland to start the evening. Cloud and outbreaks of rain over Orkney will spread north across Shetland again overnight. Remaining breezy. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Wednesday 7th September:

The mostly cloudy conditions continuing with outbreaks of rain and the fresh southeasterly breeze. Some drier and brighter weather may reach southwest Orkney in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Breezy with further showers on Thursday but becoming mainly dry later. A big change in the weather for Friday and Saturday; dry with bright or sunny spells and light winds.
